3-6th grade uses the Mathematical Reasoning curriculum. This book focuses on building thinking skills around arithmetic, teaches fractions and introduces algebraic concepts with fun and approachable puzzles. We go through the book together, some pages done in class and others at home. Students who have strong math skills or would like to take their studies beyond the base curriculum can be assigned supplemental materials to boost their thinking skills.
7th and 8th grade students will work through the Bright Thinker curriculum. These books solidify the math skills learned in elementary school and prepare students for high school math. We’ll review many different concepts that include number sets, exponents, order of operations, and inverse operations. We will also enter the world of algebra and geometry. We will work together in class as well as independently at home.

The Jubilate English enrichment class covers both English grammar and creative writing. For the grammar component, we follow the Easy Grammar curriculum. For creative writing we follow the Well Trained Mind curriculum. We switch the focus each year between the two, but always keep elements of each so the students don't fall behind in either.
I teach concepts and students complete assignments in class twice a week. Then there are homework assignments that get emailed to the parents after each class. If a student misses class, I include instructions for the parent to help them keep up.I love teaching and being able to support parents on their homeschooling journey!
