We will begin using IEW to teach writing skills in the fall. Students begin by analyzing and imitating existing good writing. Then through a series of incremental steps, they develop the ability to write their own original compositions.
For grammar, we use Easy Grammar. This method focuses first on the mastery of prepositions and prepositional phrases to make identification of other sentence parts easier.

Welcome to the world of American Sign Language! This course is the first step for students in their journey of learning this unique language and connecting with the Deaf community. During this semester, students will learn fingerspelling, cardinal numbers, and vocabulary about family, activities, and living situations. They will also build comfortability with facial grammar, sentence structure, and conversational customs. Lastly, students will dip their toes into Deaf culture, history, and art forms. By the end, new signers will learn the fundamental skills to make connections with their local deaf and hard of hearing community.

High School Composition and Literature
Join us on a literary adventure through one of Sherlock Holmes’ most famous mysteries! We will read The Hound of Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, learning the basics to studying classic literature, identifying fundamental literary devices, and annotating fictional texts. Using the novel as a jumping-off point, students will also learn how to write effective expository, argumentative, and compare/contrast essays, along with a research report. These essay projects will also involve building comfortability with the writing process, accumulating editing skills, and learning how to evaluate and revise their own work. Join us as we hone our own thinking capabilities while shadowing the world’s greatest detective!

Studio: This class works in tandem with the Band class, it is highly recommended and encouraged that students take this class and band at the same time. The goal for this class is to get more focused time on students so as to help them through any difficulties experienced in the regular band and to create a space to practice performing in front of a limited number of peers. This will boost their confidence as players, create a space to work out the "nitty-gritty", and promote quick and effective progress in the regular band class

Little Musical Me: A class for infants and toddlers alongside an adult who loves them. In our Little Musical Me class your little one will learn through music and movement. We experiment with rhythm, we practice gross motor skills, fine motor skills, interacting with our friends, and most importantly we have so much fun! At each class we will meet with a familiar Hello song, and then we will move through different musical pieces that will captivate their attention and encourage good listening skills, hand eye coordination, and positive peer engagement. All through fun, song, and dance. We will practice pitch recognition, feeling the Rythm and keeping a beat, explore dynamics, and experience the joy of music.
